the district,-.who shall arrest and carry such offender before
some justice of the peace for the county, to answer said inform-
ation and complaint, and the justice before whom he may be
token, upon proof of the commission of such offence by such
person, shall give judgment for fine and costs, upon which judg-
ment there shall be no aupersedeas, and the justice and con-
stables shall be entitled to the same fees as in other civil cases.

191. The several constables who may collect any fines imposed
for riding or driving on the side-walks of said village, shall pay
the same, within thirty days after the receipt thereof, to the
superintendents of Liberty, and upon refusal or neglect of any
constable so to do, the said superintendents may recover the same,
in the name of the State, before any justice of the peace for said
county, as small debts.

192. No person shall, by any thing contained in the 188.th sec-
tion of this article, be prohibited or prevented from passing across
said foot-walks, on going from or returning to his own premises.

MEOHANIOSTOWN.

193. The citizens of Mechanicstown, in Frederick county, are
a body corporate, by the name of the burgess and commissioners
of Mechanicstown, and by that name may sue and be sued, and
haive and use a common seal.

194. The limits of said town, for all purposes except taxation,
by the laws of the corporation, shall be as follows:-Commencing
at Nathaniel Eyiir's dwelling house, on the west end of the town,
including said house, thence in a straight line in a south-easterly
direction to Adam Eidinour's dwelling house, including said
house, thence in a straight line in a southerly direction to W. P.
Jonea' factory, including said factory and all buildings attached
thereto, thence in a straight line due east to Weller's Bun, thence
a straight line in a north-easterly direction to Henry Funden-
burg's barn; including aaid barn, thence a straight line in a
north-westerly direction to Weller's Eun, at its intersection with
the Emmitsburg road, thence a straight line in a westerly direc-
tion, to the new stone church, including said church and all lots
attached thereto, thence a straight line to the place of beginning;

and the taxable limits of the said town shall include all that part
of the town now improved, or which the citizens may at any time
hereafter improve, these being the limits fixed by the original
