180. All officers elected under this charter shall continue to
act until other officers have been elected and qualified in their
places. ,

181. All fines and forfeitures, under the ordinances of the
said corporation, shall be recoverable before the president of the
commissioners, or before a justice of the peace, as small debts.

JURORS.

182. Each juror attending the Circuit Court for Frederick
county shall be entitled to the sum of one dollar and fifty cents
for each day's attendance.

183. Each juror, in addition to his said per diem, if he reside
more than five miles from the place of holding said court, shall
be entitled to twelve and a half cents for every mile, excluding
the first five miles his place of residence shall be distant from
the place of holding the court, to be allowed once only for
coming to and returning from said court at any one term.

184. The county commissioners of Frederick county shall
annually levy such sum of money as in their judgment will be
sufficient to pay the expenses which may be annually incurred
by the attendance of jurors at the Circuit Court for said county.

185. The sum so levied shall be collected as other county
charges, and the collector shall pay to the jurors immediately
after the adjournment of each court, such sum as they may
severally be entitled to receive for their attendance at that
court.

186. A certificate signed by the clerk of the Circuit Court,
-stating the number of days which each juror may have attended
said court, and the sum due him for such attendance, shall be
sufficient authority to the collector to pay the amount specified
in such certificate.

JUSTICES OF THE PEACE AND CONSTABLES.

187. There shall be the following number of justices of the
peace and constables in Frederick county, to wit: For election
district number one, three justices of the peace and three con-
stables; for election district number two, four justices of the
