from the time of sale, or may recover the value thereof and
damages.

84. In all cases of sales of real estate by a collector, if the
owner shall hot redeem the same within the time and upon the
terms aforesaid, the purchaser may recover possession, if the
same be withheld, by an action of ejectment, in which action, as
well as in the actions prescribed by the last preceding section,
the plaintiff shall be entitled to recover, upon producing the
receipt of the collector for the purchase money, describing with
reasonable certainty the property sold, and showing on the part
of the collector a substantial compliance with the requirements
of section 80th of this article.

85. If the collector shall be resisted, attacked or menaced
with violence, he may summon to his aid the posse comitafrns,
and each person so summoned and serving shall be allowed fifty
cents a day, to be paid by the county; and if any person being
summoned shall refuse to serve, he shall be liable to a fine of
five dollars, to be recovered before a justice of the peace, one-
half to the use of the party prosecuting, and the other half to
the county.

86. If any person shall strike or assault a collector in the
discharge of his duty, or any person serving as one of the posse
comitatus as aforesaid, or shall strike or assault any person, to
deter or prevent his bidding or for having bidden at a collector's
sale, he shall be subject to a fine of not less than twenty nor
more than one hundred dollars,, and imprisonment for not less
than two nor more than twelve months.

COUNTY COMMISSIONEKS.

87. There shall be five county commissioners for Dorchester
county.

88. Each commissioner shall be entitled to one dollar and
twenty-five cents for each day he shall attend upon the duties
of .his office, and also an allowance of three cents a mile for
every mile that his place of residence may be distant from the
place of meeting, and such mileage shall be allowed for coming
to and returning from their place of meeting, each day he shall
attend.
