sects with Tillotson's farm fence, thence east with said fence until
it intersects with the first line of the property now or formerJy
belonging to the heirs of the late John See, thence north one
hundred and eighty feet or the depth of said line north, thence
east on a straight line until it extends to the east corner of the
lot of land now or formerly belonging to the heirs of the late
Thomas J. Gadd, thence south until it intersects again with
Tillotson's farm fence, thence east up to the comer of said line,
thence south until it intersects with the back line of the Ken-
nedy lot, thence in a southwesterly direction and with the
southern boundaries of all the lots to the Neck road, thence
southward with said road to the corner of the fence now or
formerly the fence of Doctor John H. Holt's first field, thence
westwardly on a direct line with the southern boundary of all the
lots to the creek, and thence with the meanderings of Tuckahoe
Creek to the foot of the aforesaid bridge.

116. The free white male citizens of Hillsborough above the
age of twenty-one years, who have resided in said town for three
months, and twelve months in this State, shall, on the first Satur-
day in April in each year, at the Academy in said town, or at
such other place therein as shall be appointed by the commis-
sioners, elect five judicious and discreet persons commissioners
of said town.

117. The acting president of the board of commissioners shall
from time to time cause the clerk of the town to give public
notice in writing of each election, at three conspicuous places, at
least ten days preceding the election, and the said president shall
be judge of said election, and shall open the polls at two o'clock,
P.M., and close the same at six o'clock the same evening, and shall
return his certificate of the persons elected to the said commis-
sioners on the first day appointed for their meeting, and the same
shall be filed and recorded among their proceedings.

118. No person shall be eligible to the office of commissioner
in said town who shall not have resided twelve months in said
town immediately previous to the election, and at the time con-
ducting some business or having a family in said town.

119. If any commissioner shall die, resign, or remove from the
said town, or be otherwise disqualified, during the year for which
he was elected, the board of commissioners, or a majority of them,
shall fill the vacancy.
