ART. 5.J CALVERT COUNTY. 365

28. The said clerk shall also take and subscribe before one of
said commissioners the following oath: "1, A. B., do swear,
that aa clerk to the county commissioners for Calvert county, I
will honestly and faithfully, to the best of my skill and judgment,
execute the duties of the said office, without favor, affection or
prejudice."

CRIER.

29. The crier of the Circuit Court shall not be entitled to any
fees, but shall receive an annual salary of one hundred and twenty
dollars from the county commissioners.

ELECTIONS.

30. Calvert county is divided into three election districts,
according to their present bounds and limits, in each of which
districts all elections for public officers shall be held, at the place
now established by law.

JURORS AND BAILIFFS.

81. Every juror summoned to the Circuit Court for Calvert
county, and every bailiff attending said court, shall receive for
each day he shall attend the said court the sum of one dollar.

JUSTICES OF THE PEACE AND CONSTABLES.

32. There shall be the following number of justices of the peace
and constables for Calvert county, to wit: for election district
number one, three justices of the peace and two constables; for
election district number two,, three justices of the peace and two
constables; for election district number three, three justices of
the peace and two constables.

NEGROES AND SLAVES.

33. No licensed retailer in Calvert county, nor any person
residing in said county, accustomed to make and sell distilled
spirits or other liquors, shall suffer any free negro, or negro
slave, to be in his store-house, or other house wherein he is
accustomed to sell distilled spirits or other liquors, between sun-
set and sun-rise.
