or through ignorance put upon any barrel or cask of salted fish
any mark other than its condition and quality requires, he shall
suspend such sub-inspector and transmit a statement in writing
of the grounds of such suspension under oath to the Governor,
and the Governor may continue such suspension or reinstate the
sub-inspector as the case may require.

299. The sub-inspectors shall, at the end of every -month,
render an account, under oath, and pay over to the chief in-
spector all money received by them for their services as in-
spectors, or for charges of inspection, and the chief inspector
shall divide monthly, in equal proportions, between the sub-in-
spectors and himself, all money so received by him.

300. The fees of such inspectors shall be as follows: for the in-
spection of each barrel, half barrel or tierce of ehad or mackerel
fish, ten cents; for each barrel, half barrel or tierce of herrings,
three cents.

801. The master or owner of any vessel shall pay to the in-
spector one and a half cents for every barrel, half barrel or
tierce mentioned in the certificates hereinafter required to be
given by them. *

302. All coopers who may be engaged in the re-cooperage of
fish during the time of inspection shall be under the control of
the chief inspector, who may discharge any cooper who shall
refuse, fail or neglect to perform his duties in a workmanlike or
satisfactory manner.

303. If any cooper shall refuse to leave said barrels, half
barrels or tierces, after having received his discharge, and shall
persist in working thereon, he shall forfeit and pay the sum of
twenty dollars. •

304. When any fish shall be brought to the city of Baltimore,
the owner's or inspectors, or their agents, shall, within forty-
eight hours after the landing of the same, deliver to the chief or
one of the sub-inspectors, a written report containing the number
and binds of casks of fish, and the place or places where they
may be deposited, so that the same may be inspected, under the
penalty of one dollar for each cask imported and neglected to be
reported.
