the eighteenth ward into seven precincts; the nineteenth ward
into four precincts, and the twentieth ward into four pre-
cincts.

200*. The said precincts in each ward shall be as nearly equal
to each other as may be practicable, in voting population, and
shall be set apart with as much regard as may be to the
proximity and concentration of their several parts and to the
convenience of the voters therein.

201*. The Board of Police shall cause the said precincts in each
and every ward to be numbered one, two, &c., and the descrip-
tion of each thereof to be recorded in a book to be kept by them
for the purpose, and as soon as the said division shall have been
so made and recorded, the said board shall cause the said
description of the several precincts, with their respective
numbers, to be published daily three times in all the daily papers
of the city of Baltimore which shall be willing, for a proper
compensation, to insert the same.

202*. It shall be the duty of the said Board of Police, from
time to time, after the said first division shall have been made,
to alter and correct said divisions whenever they may deem it
expedient, so however as not to increase or diminish the number
of precincts in any of the several wards as aforesaid.

203*. In case of any change in the number or locality of the
wards of said city, the Board of Police shall, as soon as possible
thereafter, distribute the same generally into equal precincts, as
nearly as may be, to contain four hundred and fifty voters, more
or loss, as nearly as in their discretion they may deem advisable,
and shall from time to time thereafter amend such distribution,
if need be, so as to produce such result; and they shall cause the
said alterations or new divisions and amendments thereof to be
likewise recorded and advertised as hereinbefore provided.

204*. After the making of such several divisions or distri-
butions into pre'cincts, the votes of the citizens entitled by law
to vote in any ward of the city of Baltimore, shall be given and
received only at the place of voting in the precinct in which
they shall reside at the time of such voting, or in which they
may have last resided previously to their removal from the said
ward, if they have so removed, and have not acquired a legal
residence elsewhere.
