the issuing of a foreign attachment, and may be certified in the
same manner.
169. When any judgment by default shall be entered under
the preceding sections, the court may assess the damages and
proof thereof, without empanelling a jury to do so.
170. Writs of execution issued out of the same court may be
made returnable, at the election of the plaintiff, to the next
succeeding term of the court or next succeeding return day.
COURT or COMMON PLEAS.
171. The Court of Common Pleas shall hold three terms in
each year, commencing on the second Monday of January, the
second Monday of May, and the second Monday of September.
172. In addition to the first day of each term, the second
Monday in February, March, April, June, July, October, No.
vember and December in each year shall be return days.
173. All the provisions of the preceding sections respecting
the Superior Court, and relating to the institution of suits, the
return of process, the appearance of the defendant, the entry of
judgment against the defendant by default, the making of affi-
davit by plaintiff or defendant, the assessing of damages by the
court, and the issuing and return of executions, and all the other
provisions of said sections, shall apply to the proceedings in the
Court of Common Pleas, in the same manner as they are made
to apply by the said sections to the proceedings in the Superior
Court.
CIRCUIT COURT FOR BALTIMORE.
174. The regular terms for the sitting of the Circuit Court of
Baltimore city, shall be on the second Monday of November,
and on the second Monday of each alternate month thereafter,
throughout the year.
CRIMINAL COURT.
175. The Criminal Court of Baltimore shall hold three regular
sessions yearly, to commence on the second Monday of January,
second Monday of May, and second Monday of September; and
such sessions shall continue until all the business before it shall
be finished.
