27. The citizens of Caroline county may catch oysters in the
Great Choptank and Nanticoke Rivers and their tributary creeks,
for the use of the citizens of said county, but not for exportation
out of the State, in the same manner as the citizens of Talbot
and Dorchester counties may.

28. No person shall under any pretext whatever rake or take
away any shells from any of the rocks or flats whereon oysters
grow within the limits of Worcester county, and any person vio-
lating this section shall be liable to the penalty and forfeiture
imposed for violation of the first section of this article, and shall
be proceeded against in the same manner; but if the person
so violating be a negro, and not able to pay the fine imposed,
then the justice may order him to be whipped not exceeding
thirty-nine lashes.

29. If any offence under this article be committed within a
county, the justices or Circuit Court of that county shall have
jurisdiction; if committed in a river or creek which divides two
counties, the justices or Circuit Court of either county shall have
jurisdiction; or if the offence be committed within the waters
of this State, but not within the limits of any county, then the
justices or Circuit Court of any county lying opposite where the
offence was committed shall have jurisdiction, and all proceed-
ings, whether before a justice or before the Circuit Court, shall
be in the name of the State, and if the party accused be ac-
quitted, the county in which the proceedings were had shall pay
the costs.

ARTICLE LXXIL
Partnerships-Limited.

SEC. 1. Limited partnerships, for the transaction of any mer-
cantile, mechanical, or manufacturing business within this State,
may be formed by two or more persons, upon the terms, with
the rights and powers, and subject to the conditions and liabili-
ties herein prescribed; but the provisions of this article shall not
be construed to authorize any such partnership for the purpose
of banking, or making insurar. 30.
