186                                                                STATUTES NOT FOUND APPLICABLE,

10 Anne.--A. D. 1711.

-----

CHAP. 2.  An act for preserving the protestant religion, &c. and for confirming the
toleration, &c.

The six first sections of this statute were repealed by 5 Geo. 1, Ch. 4.  The 7th, 8th and 9th, must
have been in force in the province, with the toleration act.  The 10th and 11th related to Scotland.

CHAP. 5.  An act to repeal the act of the 7th year of queen Anne, for naturalizing
foreign protestants, &c.

See the note on 7 Anne, Ch. 5.  This statute made a repeal thereof, except what related to the
children of natural born subjects, born out of the queen's allegiance.

CHAP. 22.  An act for the relief of merchants importing prize goods from America.

This statute had some operation in the province.

12 Anne, Stat. 1.--A. D. 1713.

-----

CHAP. 7.  An act for the more effectual preventing and punishing robberies, that
shall be committed in houses.

This statute which took away the benefit of clergy from persons stealing to the value of 40s. being
in a dwelling house or out houses, though not broken, appears from some of the cases in the provincial
court, to have extended to the province.

12 Anne, Stat. 2.--A. D. 1713.

-----

CHAP. 8.  An act for encouraging the tobacco trade.

This statute must have extended in some degree to the province.

CHAP. 18.  An act for the preserving all such ships and goods thereof, which shall
happen to be forced on shore, or stranded upon the coasts of this kingdom, or
any other of her majesty's dominions.  (Part.)

See the note on 3 Edw. 1, Ch. 4; but there is no case of a prosecution under that part, which ousted
clergy from persons stealing any pump belonging to a ship in distress.
