Which was read and referred to the Committee on Edu-
cation.

Mr. Biddison presented the petition of G. A. Pfeltz, A.
G. Griffith. F. M. Drown, David Leo and five hundred
others, for erecting new hay scales for the accommodation
of hay brought into the northeastern section of the city, or
for removing the present scales at Canton to some more con-
venient locality to answer the wants of the above named
section ;

Which was read and referred to the Harford and Balti-
more county delegations.

Also, a memorial from Cary McClelland, E. G. Ullery and
others, to open West Fayette street extended ;

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Roads
and Highways.

Mr. Slingluff presented the petition of Thomas Craddock
and others, for altering the dividing line between the 3rd
and 1th districts of Baltimore county.

Which was read and referred to the Baltimore county del-
egation.

Mr. Bond, of Baltimore city, presented the petition of the
"Union Protestant Infirmary," of Baltimore, asking an ap-
propriation.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Ways
and Means.

Mr. Hubbard submitted the following order :

Ordered, That a special committee be appointed to investi-
gate and report upon the inspection of salt fish and the laws
regulating the same.

Which was adopted.

On motion of Mr. Smith, of Baltimore city,

The vote by which the said order was adopted was re-
considered.

The question then, recurring upon the adoption of the
urder.

On motion of Mr. Smith, of Baltimore city,
It was referred to the Committee on Inspections.
Mr. Hubbard submitted the following order :

Ordered, That a special committee be appointed to investi-
gate and report upon the inspection of leather and the laws
regulating the same.

Which was read, and.

On motion of Mr. Smith, of Baltimore city,
Referred to the Committee on Inspections.
