tailed by the dealers, provided nothing herein contained
shall be so construed as to require any lime sold at the deal-
er's place of business in quantities less than a barrel to be
inspected.

Add an additional section to he known as

SEC. 14. Be it enacted, That if any wagon or car load of
lime shall be culled of the lumps by any dealer or employees,
and sold separately, except by a change of certificate, the
party or parties so offending shall be fined the sum of ten
dollars for each and every offense.

Which were severally read and adopted.
Amendment proposed by the Committee :

Amend section 1, line 3, strike out after the word
"appoint" to the word, two ; line 4, and insert the word
"annually."

Which was rejected.

Mr. Blake submitted the following amendment:

Section 5. And be it enacted, That every dealer in lime
shall keep all lime of the several qualities herein mentioned
and established separate, and in the vending thereof, shall
correctly state to the purchaser the quality of the lime
offered for sale ; and every dealer who shall violate this sec-
tion, shall be liable to a fine of not more than one hundred
dollars, to be recovered before any Justice of the Peace, as
other fines, and to be applied for the benefit of the public
schools of the city of Baltimore.

Which was adopted.

The bill as amended,

Was then read a second time and ordered to be engrossed
for a third reading,

Mr. Legg, Chairman of the select committee on Oysters
and the Oyster Law, reported favorably

A bill entitled an Act to repeal section 3, Article 41, of
the Code of Public General Laws, title "Fish and Fisheries,"
sub-title "Head of the Bay," and to re-enact the same so as
to read as follows.

Which was read a first time.

The Chair laid before the House the following report from
Hon.. Isaac D. Jones, Attorney General, in response to an
order of the House.
