FRIDAY, March 20th, 1868,

The House met, and was opened with prayer by the Rev,
Mr. Cronin.

Present at the call of the roll the following members :

Messrs. Stewart, (Speaker,) Coad, Beck, Hammond, Igle-
hart, Deale, Bond, of Calvert, Dalrymple, Mitchell, Chap-
man, Nicolai, Sliugluff, Montague, Poteet, Holmes, Biddison,
Rose, Lowe, Corbin, Percy, Stewart, of Dorchester, John-
son, Touchstone, Richards, Mearns, Guy, Williams, Sudler,
Legg, Holloway, Dutrow, Wenner, Bowlus, Maynard.
Byers, Silver, Nelson,Vandiver,Brown, Moore, Hubbard, San-
ner, Robb, Morse, Blake,. Latrobe. Pentland, Smith, of Balti-
more city, Bond, of Baltimore city, Colton, Mullin, Chaisty,
McElroy, Harig, Markland, Marshall, Conway, Coudy.,
Herbert, Rohrer, Seibert, Riggs, Offutt, Conley, McCulloh.
Kean, Devecrnon, Trimble, Hall, Davis, of Carroll, Worth-
ington, Harden, Clark, Jones, Fooks—76.

Mr. Colton presented the petition of John Smithson and
others.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on that
subject.

Mr. Maynard presented the petition of Francis S. Jones.
Maurice T. Starr, Thomas J. Keisler and 20 other citizens of
Frederick county, endorsing the views of the Superintendent
of Labor and Agriculture, in his recent communication to
the General Assembly of Maryland.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Agricul-
ture.

Mr. Rose presented a petition from 47 citizens of Talbot
county, praying the passage of an Act requiring all gates to
be removed from the public roads of said county.

Which were severally read and referred to Messrs. Rose;
Lowe and Johnson.

Mr, Brown presented a statement showing those who are
entitled to Pensions in Harford county.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Pen-
sions.

Mr. Conway presented the petition of Ann Aler, Jane Ful-
ler, George McCutchen, Ellen Mullins and others, praying
to be placed on the pension rolls of this State.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Pen-
sions.
