WEDNESDAY, .March 18, 1888.

The House met, and was opened with prayer by the Rev.
Mr. Hammond.

Present at the call of the roll the following members :

Messrs. Stewart, (Speaker,) Loker, Coad, Boyer, Beck,
Hammond. Iglehart, Deale, Bond, of Calvert, Dalrymple,
Mitchell, Chapman, Nicolai, Slingluff, Montague, Holmes,
Biddison, Rose, Lowe, Corbin, Percy, Stewart, of Dorches-
ter, Davis, of Cecil, Touchstone, Richards, Williams, Sudler,
Legg, Holloway, Smith, of Worcester, Wenner, Maynard,
Silver, Nelson, Vandiver, Brown, Hubbard, Wentz, Robb,
Morse, Blake, Latrobe, Smith, of Baltimore city3 Mullia,
Chaisty, McElroy, Harig, Markland, Marshall, Conway,
Bohrer, Seibert, Riggs, Offutt, Conley, McCulloh, Kean,
Devecmon, Trimble, Hall, Davis, of Carroll, Jordan, Harden,
Clark, Fooks—65.

Mr. Hubbard presented a petition from M. J. Clark and
75 other citizens, for the passage of a law giving the county
surveyor of Caroline county the right to take acknowledg-
ments of deeds.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on the
Judiciary.

Mr. Vandiver presented a petition from John Wareham,
J. L. Williams, and 40 others, against any amendment to
the boom charter.

Which was read and referred to the select committee on

that subject.

Mr. Touchstone presented the petition of Robert E. Old-
ham and 51 other citizens of the 5th, 6th and 9th Election
Districts of Cecil county, praying the passage of a law au-
thorizing the alteration of the boundary lines of the 5th, 6th
and 9th Election Districts in Cecil county.

Which was read and referred to the Cecil county delega-
tion.

Mr. Blake submitted a petition from John Garret and 34
others, asking for two additional magistrates for the city
of Baltimore, who understand the Irish language.

Which was read and referred to the Baltimore city delega-
tion.

Mr. Mullin submitted the following order :

Ordered, That Mr. Coltoa and Mr. Bond, of Baltimore
city, have leave of absence for this day.

Which was adopted.
