The House bill entitled an Act to increase the number of
free scholarships in the Baltimore Female College, and to
change the manner of appointing the beneficiaries and trus-
tees.

Said bill being upon a second reading,

Mr. Iglehart submitted the following amendment:

Section 1, line 4, strike out the word " three," before the
word pupils, and insert the word two.

Which was adopted.

The bill as amended, was then ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

Also, reported

The bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Montgomery,
Howard and Carroll Railroad Company, with proposed sub-
stitute therefor.

Mr. Conway moved to postpone the further consideration
of the report of the committee, and make it the order of the
day for Tuesday, 24th inst.

Pending the consideration of which,
Mr. Hall moved the previous question,
