On motion of Mr. Blake,

At 3 o'clock, P. M., the House took a recess until 8
o'clock, this P. M.

NIGHT SESSION.

MONDAY, March 16th, 8 o'clock, P. M.
The House met.
Present at the call of the roll the following members :

Messrs. Stewart, (Speaker,) Loker, Coad, Boyer, Beck,
Hammond, Iglehart, Deale, Bond, of Calvert, Mitchell,
Chapman, Nicolai, Slingluff, Montague, Poteet, Holmes,
Rose, Lowe, Horsey, Percy, Stewart, of Dorchester, Davis,
of Cecil, Touchstone, Richards. Keech, Williams, Sudler,
Legg, Holloway, Dutrow, Wenner, Bowlus, Maynard, Silver,
Nelson, Vandiver, Hubbard, Sanner, Wentz, Robb, Morse,
Blake, Latrobe, Smith, of Baltimore city, Bond of Balti-
more city, Colton, Mullin, McElroy, Harig, Rohrer, Riggs,
Offutt, Conley, Devecmon, Trimble, Hall, Davis, of Carroll,
Jordan, Clark, Fooks—60.

The House resumed the consideration of the unfinished
business of the morning's session.

The first order of the day being

The joint resolutions expressive of the views of the General
Assembly upon the present condition of the nation,

Being upon a second reading,
On motion of Mr. Latrobe,

The further consideration thereof was postponed, and the
resolutions were made the order of the day for Monday, 23d
instant.

Mr. Davis, of Cecil, moved a suspension of the rules to
take up bills entitled to a third reading.

Which was determined in the negative.

The House proceeded to the consideration of the next
order of the day, being the unfavorable reports of the Com-
mittee on the Judiciary on

The bill entitled an Act to repeal chapter 329, of the Acts
of 1867, on selecting, drawing and summoning jurors in the
