Which was read a first time.

The House then resumed the consideration of the order oi
the day, being

The bill entitled an Act to afford protection to persons in
the State of Maryland, consigning flour, grain, tobacco, and
all other agricultural products to Baltimore city, for sale, and
to add the following sections providing therefor to Article 30
of the Code of Public General Laws, entitled Crimes and
Punishments.

Said bill being upon a second reading,

Mr. Smith, of Baltimore city, submitted the following
amendment :

Section 208, line 4, strike out all after the word "of" to
the word, or, in 5th line, inclusive.

Which was rejected.

Mr. Rose submitted the following amendment:

Sub-section 209, line 21, strike out the words "thirty-
three" and insert the word, ten.

Which was read, and, pending the consideration of which,

Mr. Legg moved that the further consideration thereof
be postponed, and the bill made the order of the day for
Thursday next, 19th instant,

Mr. Colton moved that the further consideration thereof
be postponed, and the bill made the order of the day for
Thursday, the 26th instant.

Decided in the negative.

The question then recurring upon the motion submitted
by Mr. Legg,

It was decided in the affirmative,

And the bill made the order of the day for Thursday next,
the 19th instant.
