the following sections in lieu thereof.

Which was read a first time and referred to the Commit-
tee on Roads and Highways.

Also,

A bill entitled an Act to repeal chapter 156. passed Janu-
ary session, 1867, entitled an Act to repeal sections 5 and 8
of an Act passed January session, 1864, chapter 15, entitled
an Act to aid and encourage enlistments into the Maryland
Regiments in the service of the United States ; and also to re-
peal sections 4 and 5 of an Act passed January session, 1865,
chapter 33, entitled an Act to provide bounty for soldiers
entering the service of the United States, to fill the quotas
of Maryland, under the call of the President of the United
States of December, 1864, and under future calls.

Which was read a first time and referred to the Commit-
tee on Ways and Means.

Also,

The bill entitled an Act to amend an Act passed January
session, 1865, chapter 33, entitled an Act to provide bounty
for soldiers entering the service of the United States to fill
the quotas of Maryland, under the call of the President
of the United States of the 19th of December, 1864, and
under future calls, by amending and re-enacting sections 4,
5 and 6, which were repealed or intended to be repealed by
the Act of 1867, chapter 156.

Which was read a first time and referred to the Commit-
tee on Ways and Means.

Also,

The bill entitled an Act to repeal section 69, of Article 1,
of the Code of Public Local Laws of Allegany county,
sub-title "Fences," and to re-enact the same with amend-
ments.

Which was read a first time and referred to the Allegany
delegation.

Also,

The hill entitled an Act to compensate Joseph M. Palmer
for services rendered the State in the cases of State vs. George
Otto and George Hape.

Which was read a first time and referred to the Commit-
tee on Claims.

Also returned the following House bills severally endorsed :
" Passed by yeas and nays."
