And the General Assembly reserves to itself the right to
alter, amend, or repeal this Act at pleasure.

The amendments were adopted,
And the bill as amended
Was read a second time, and,
On motion of Mr. McElroy,
Ordered to be printed.

Also,

The Senate bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Hoovers-
ville and Baltimore Turnpike Company, with proposed
amendments,

Said hill being upon a second reading.

Amendments proposed by the Committee on Corporations :

In section 2, line 3, strike out the word "county" after
"Anne Arundel," and insert the words "and of;" and
after " Baltimore county," insert the words '' subject to the
provisions of Article 3, section 54, of the Constitution : "
and after the word ''and," insert the words " Mayor and
City Council of;" and after the words " Baltimore city,"
insert the words " subject to the provisions of Article 11,
section 7, of the Constitution ;" so that the section as
amended will read as follows :

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the capital stock of said
company shall be fifty thousand dollars, in shares of one
hundred dollars each, and all individuals and bodies corpo-
rate, and the Commissioners of Anne Arundel and of Baltimore
county, subject to the provisions of Article 3, section 54, of
the Constitution, and the Mayor and City Council of Balti-
more, subject to the provisions of Article 11, section 7, of

the Constitution, are hereby authorized and empowered, &c.,

&c. * * * * * * *

Amend section 4 by inserting after the word "subscribed,"
in line 2, the following words: "on giving two weeks'
notice of the time and place thereof in one or more newspapers
published in Baltimore county, Anne Arundel county, and
Baltimore city."

In section 9, line 7, strike out the word " fifty."

The amendments were adopted,

Mr. Marshall submitted the following amendment,

Add at end of section 9. Provided, That this Company
shall not be authorized to charge tolls on any vehicle or horse
