Mr. Nelson presented the petition of Eveline Ayers, a
widow of a soldier of 1814, asking for a pension.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Pen-
sions.

Mr. Jordan presented a petition from Wm. H. Haugh,
Henry Kurnp., George Walton, and forty-three other citizens
of Middleburg District, of Carroll county, against the repeal
of the present funeral law.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on the
Judiciary.

Mr. Jones presented the petition of George W. Hamilton
and other citizens of the First Election District of Howard
county, praying the passage of an Act to divide the said
District.

Also,

The petition of James McGee and other citizens of the
First Election District of Howard county, praying the pas-
sage of an act to divide the said district.

Which were severally read and referred to Messrs, Clark.
Jones, and Worthingtou.

Mr. Worthington presented a petition from John Lam-
mott, Lewis E. Myerly, Adam Shower, and ninety other
citizens of Manchester district, against the repeal of the
present funeral law.

Also,

A petition from L. Miller, Jos. Davidson, M. A. Lauver.,
and twenty-seven other citizens of Middleburg District, in
Carroll county, against the repeal of the funeral law.

Which were severally read and referred to the Committee
on the Judiciary.

Mr. Sanner presented the petition of J. A. Wagner and
200 other citizens of Baltimore, praying for the modification
of the present Sunday Law.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on the
Judiciary.

Mr. Slingluff presented a petition from 100 citizens of 1st
and 3d Election Districts of Baltimore county, to authorize
and require the County Commissioners of Baltimore county
to set apart half an acre of land from the Almshouse property
for a public school.

Which was read and referred to the Baltimore county
Delegation.
