Ordered, That Mr. Fooks have leave of absence until
Monday, 15th inst.

Which was read.

Mr. Rose submitted the following order as a substitute :

Ordered, That leave of absence shall not be granted to
any member of this house, prior to the election of United
States Senator.

Which was rejected.

The question then recurring upon the adoption of the
order submitted by Mr. Dalrymple,

It was adopted.

Mr. Biddison submitted the following order :

Ordered, That S. Boyer have leave to visit his home on
the Eastern Shore for one week.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Worthington submitted the following order :

Ordered, That John H. Jordan be granted leave of ab-
sence for three days after to-day.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Holmes submitted the following order :

Ordered, That leave of absence be granted to Mr. Johnson,
of Dorchester, on account of urgent business.

Which was adopted.

On motion of Mr. Jordan,

Leave was granted to the Carroll delegation to introduce a
bill to repeal the Act of 1867, chapter 40, and section 21 of
Article 7 of Public Local Laws, title Carroll county, sub-title
Justices of the Peace and Constables, and re-enact the same
with amendments.

Mr. Jordan, Chairman of a select committee, reported fa-
vorably,

A bill entitled an Act to amend and re-enact section 21 of
Article 7 of the Code of Public Local Laws, title "Carroll
County," sub-title Justices of the Peace and Constables, and
to repeal the Act of 1867, chapter 110, providing an addi-
tional constable for District No. 2, Carroll county.

Which was read a first time.

Mr. Poteet, Chairman of a select committee, reported fa-
vorably,
