sions ; and, whereas, by a decision of the Court of Appeals,
it appears that such commissions are void, therefore,
Be it resolved, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the Clerk of the Superior Court be, and he is hereby author-
ized and directed to return to each of said persons on demand,
the said sum of two dollars so as aforesaid paid.

On motion of Mr. Chapman, the vote by which the bill
entitled an Act to repeal the Act of 1867, chapter 366, en-
titled an Act making an appropriation for the support of the
Government for the year ending first day of January, 1869,
and to substitute the following in lieu thereof, was made the
order of the day for Tuesday, 10th day of March,
Was reconsidered.
On motion by Mr. Chapman,
The bill was then recommitted to the Committee on Ways
and Means.
Mr. Colton, Chairman of the Committee on Claims, re-
ported favorably a bill entitled an Act to appropriate a cer-
tain sum of money to Honorable Philip F. Thomas for pub-
lic services.
Which was read a first time.
Mr. Colton moved that the hill be read a second time this
day, in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution,
section 27, Article 3.
