introduce a bill to incorporate the Brookeville Lyceum Asso-
ciation of Montgomery county.

Mr. Nelson, Chairman of the Committee on Agriculture,
reported favorably,

The bill entitled an Act to afford protection to persons in
the State of Maryland consigning flour, grain, tobacco and
all other agricultural products to Baltimore city, for sale,
and to add the following sections providing therefor to Ar-
ticle 30 of the Code of Public General Laws entitled "Crimes
and Punishments."

Said bill being upon a second reading,

On motion of Mr. Smith, of Baltimore city,
The further consideration thereof was postponed, and

The bill made the order of the day for Thursday, March
5th.

Mr. Mitchell, Chairman of the Committee on the Judiciary,
reported favorably,

A bill entitled an Act to enable John James Jackson, an
alien, to hold, inherit and transmit real estate in the State of
Maryland.

Which was read a first time.
Also, favorably,

The Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal the 89th section
of Article 16 of the Code of Public General Laws entitled
Chancery, and relating to process against non-resident infant
defendants, as amended by the Act of 1864, chapter 89, and
to insert in said Article in lieu of the section so repealed the
following section relating to process against non-resident
infant defendants, with proposed amendments.

Amendments proposed :

Amend, after the words "United States," in second line
of section 89 the words "or any territory
thereof."

After the word "party," in the 4th line of said section, by
inserting the words "or parties."

After the word "him," by striking out the word "or,"
and after the word "her," in the 15th line of said section,
by inserting the words "or them, and that he, she or they
have made diligent inquiry to ascertain the same, (the said
oath or affirmation, where there is more than one party com-
plainant to be made by any one, any number, or all of such
parties in the discretion of the court,) or when a commission
may have been issued, as herein provided, and the party or
