Which was read a first time.

Mr. Corbin, Chairman of a select committee, reported
favorably the

Senate bill entitled an Act to repeal the Act of 1865, chap-
ter 60, entitled an Act to repeal sections 139, 140, 141, 142,
143, 144, 145, 146, 147 and 148 of the Code of Public Local
Laws for Somerset county, relating to retailers, and to re-
enact the said sections, 139 to 148 inclusive, of Article 19 of
the Code of Public Local Laws of Somerset county.

Which was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed
for a third reading.

The bill entitled an Act to repeal the Act of 1867, chap-
ter 366, entitled an Act making appropriations for the sup-
port of the government for the year ending on the first day
of January, 1869, and to substitute the following in lieu
thereof,

Being upon a second reading,
Mr. Colton submitted the following amendment:

JUDICIARY.

Line 12, after the word " volumes," insert the words

" twenty-five."

Which was adopted.

Mr. Colton submitted the following amendment:

JUDICIARY.

Lines 14 and 15, strike out the words sixteen hundred and
eighty, and insert the words twenty-two hundred and forty.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Bond, of Baltimore city, submitted the following
amendment :

CONTINGENT FUND.

Line 10, strike out the word "four" before the word'
"hundred," and insert the word eight.

Which was rejected.

Mr. Blake submitted the following amendment:

BALTIMORE CITY.

Line 3, strike out the words " five hundred " and insert
the words one thousand.

Which was read.

The question being upon the adoption of the amendment,
