Said section then being upon a second reading,
Mr. Williams submitted the following amendment:

Section 16, line 4, strikeout the words "during the pleas-
ure of the Governor," and insert the words, until the ap-
pointment and qualification of his successor, or until removed
in pursuance of the sentence of a Court Martial.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Legg moved that the further consideration thereof be
postponed, and the bill made the order of the day for
Wednesday, March 4th.

Decided in the negative.

Mr. Latrobe submitted the following amendment:

Section 23, line 16, after the word "Maryland," insert the
words, for the value of such property to be defaced', injured,
destroyed or lost.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Latrobe submitted the following amendment:

Section 23, line 19, between the words "of" and "mili-
tary," insert the word "all."

Which was adopted.

Mr. Latrobe submitted the following amendment:

Section 24, line 4, after the word "battalion," insert the
word "squadron ;" in line 5, after the word "battalion,"
insert the word "squadron."

Which was adopted.

Mr. Smith submitted the following amendment:

Section 24, line 9, strike out the word "eighth," and in-
sert the word ninth.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Latrobe submitted the following amendment:

Section 34, line 7, insert after the word "week," for three
weeks previous to the time of said inspection.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Smith, of Baltimore city, submitted the following
amendment:

Sec. 34, line 11, strike out the words "unnecessarily fail-
ing to appear and," and insert the words "not appearing and
failing."

Which was adopted.
