The memorial of Capt. R. C. Scott, of the Maryland Na-
tional Guard, asking prompt action on the militia bill.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on the
Militia

Mr. Hubbard presented a petition from J. R. McNash and
sundry other citizens of Caroline county, against the repeal
of the Funeral Law.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on the
Judiciary.

Mr. Coudy presented the petition of Joseph Harrison,
John S. Hedding, and 81 other citizens of Hancock district,
Washington county, against the repeal of the Funeral Law.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on the Ju-
diciary.

Mr, Guy presented the petition of 67 citizens of the 7th
election district of Prince George's county, praying the
passage of an Act to change the place of holding the elec-
tions from Queen Ann to Mitchellville.

Which was read and referred to the Prince George's del-
egation .

Mr. Offutt submitted the following order :

Ordered, That Messrs. Riggs and Conley, members of this
House, and Mr. Canby, Committee Clerk, be granted leave
of absence for this day.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Hubbard submitted the following order :

Ordered, That the Hall Keeper be requested to keep this
Hall open from 8 o'clock, A. M. to 8 o'clock, P. M., on
Sundays, for the use of the members.

Which was rejected.

Mr. Smith, of Worcester, submitted the following order :

Ordered, That the Keeper of the Rotunda be and he is here-
by instructed to prevent misbehavior on the part of persons
habitually lounging in and about the Rotunda, and from en-
tering any of the rooms in the rear of the same, except upon
business ; and that the Keeper of the Rotunda and of the
Committee Rooms be and they are hereby authorized to
call to their aid any officer of the House or others within
reach to assist them in the enforcement of this order.
