Highways.

The committee were discharged and the bill so referred.

Mr. Iglehart, Chairman of the Committee on Corpora-
tions, reported favorably

The Senate bill entitled an Act to amend the charter of
the Meredith Ford and Jarrettsville Turnpike Company in
Baltimore and Harford counties.

Which was read a second time and ordered to be engrossed
for a third reading.

Also,

The Senate bill entitled an Act to incorporate the North
Branch Lumber and Boom Company.

Said bill being upon a second reading,
On motion of Mr. Iglehart,

The further consideration thereof was postponed, and the
bill made the order of the day for Tuesday, March 3d, and
ordered to be printed.

Mr. Clark, Chairman of the Committee on Expiring Laws,
reported favorably

A bill entitled an Act to repeal section 6 of chapter 189 of
the Laws of Maryland, passed January session, 1867, enti-
tled an Act to provide by law for taking and perpetuating
the evidence of the number of persons held to labor and ser-
vice in the State of Maryland, and emancipated by the Con-
stitution adopted in the year 1864, and by whom such, per-
sons were so held, passed March 22d, 1867, and substitute in
lieu thereof the following section.

Which was read a first time.

Mr. Maynard, Chairman of a select committee, reported
.favorably

A bill entitled a supplement to the Act entitled an Act to
incorporate a company to build a Turnpike Road from Lib-
ertytown, Frederick county, through Johnsville to Pipe
Creek, passed January session, 1864, chapter 338.

Which was read a first time.

Mr. Davis, of Cecil, Chairman of a select committee, re-
ported favorably, from a majority of said committee,

A bill entitled an Act to authorize and empower the

County Commissioners of Cecil and Kent counties, to build a
bridge over Sassafras River from Fredericktown, in Cecil
