Mr. Nicolai submitted the following amendment:

Sub-section 40, add after the word informer, in line 4, the

words "and the other three-fourths to the Public School Fund

of the State."

Which was adopted.

Mr. Rose submitted the following amendment:

Add at end of sub-section 39, but nothing herein con-
tained shall prevent 'a regular resident Commission House
from allowing his or their regular consignor, or the clerk of
said consignor, to act as salesman, when necessary, in the
sale and disposal of the goods of said consignor.

Which was rejected.

The bill as amended was then read a second time and
ordered to be engrossed for a third reading.

Mr. Hall submitted the following order :

Ordered, That Mr. McCulloh have leave of absence until
Tuesday morning next.

Which was adopted.
On motion of Mr. Beck,

Leave was granted to the Kent and Queen Anne's county
delegations to introduce a bill to amend the charter of the
Kent County Rail Road Company.

Also,

Leave was granted to the Kent and Queen Anne's county
delegations to introduce a bill to amend the Public Local
Laws of Kent county, title, "Chestertown," relating to
assessment of property, &c.

Mr. McElroy, Chairman of a select committee, (the rules
being suspended,) reported favorably

A bill entitled an Act to repeal section 619 of Article 4 of
the Public Local Laws, entitled "City of Baltimore," sub-
title " Justices of the Peace and Constables," and to substi-
tute the following in lieu thereof.

Which was read a first time.

Mr. McElroy moved that said bill be read a second time
this day.

The yeas and nays were called, as required by Art. 3, sec-
tion 27, of the Constitution, and appeared as follows:
