Mr. Brown, Chairman of the Committee on Inspections,
reported favorably,

A bill entitled an Act to create an additional tobacco in-
spector, and to establish a new tobacco warehouse, to be
known as Tobacco Warehouse No. 6.

Which was read a first time.

Mr. Brown, from the Committee on Ways and Means, re-
ported favorably,

The hill entitled an Act to levy a tax upon all banking
institutions doing business in this State, in [augmentation of
the Free School Fund of this State, with proposed amend-
ment.

Amendment proposed:

Add at the end of section 1st :

Provided, That nothing in this Act shall be construed to
require those banks or other institutions in the State, which,
now pay the free school fund tax under their existing char-
ters, to pay any other or additional tax for the same pur-
pose.

Which was adopted.
The bill, as amended,

Was then read a second time and ordered to be engrossed
for a third reading.

Mr. Brown, Chairman of the Committee on Inspections,
reported favorably,

The Senate bill entitled an Act to provide for the appoint-
ment of a measurer of charcoal for Baltimore city, from the
State at large.

Said bill being upon a second reading,
On motion of Mr. Con way,

The bill was recommitted to the Committee on Inspect-
ions.

Mr. Mitchell, Chairman of the Committee on the Judi-
ciary, reported unfavorably upon the

Senate hill entitled an Act to add new sections to Article
16 of the Code of Public General Laws, entitled "Chancery,"
under sub-title "Infants," relating to the sale of the real es-
tate of infants.

The report was adopted.

Mr. Smith, of Baltimore city, from the Committee on In-
ternal Improvements, reported favorably upon the
