On motion of Mr. Chaisty,

Leave was granted to a select committee,consisting of Messrs.
Chaisty, Harig, McElroy, Latrobe, Mullin, Pentland, Morse,
Sanner and Blake, to introduce an Act to add additional sec-
tions to the 4th Article of the Code of Public Local Laws re-
lating to the streets, lanes and alleys in the city of Balti-
more, and the paving, repaving and changing the grade of
streets, lanes and alleys in said city.

On motion of Mr. Williams,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Claims to introduce
a bill to pay Philemon Griffith, William Welch, John More-
head, Benjamin O'Hara and James W. Perkins the sum of
two hundred dollars, being the amount paid as counsel fees
to defend the suit brought against them by C. C. & R. H.
Hyatt, contesting the validity of the Acts of Assembly in
regard to the storage of Tobacco.

Also,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Claims to introduce
a bill to refund to James T. Perkins, out of the Treasury,
the sum of fifty dollars, being the amount paid by said Per-
kins to the Clerk of the Superior Court of Baltimore city for
commission as Tobacco Inspector.

On motion of Mr. Vandiver,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations to in-
troduce a bill to incorporate a Steam Ferry Company between
Harford and Cecil counties, at Havre de Grace.

On motion of Mr. Bowlus,

Leave was granted to the Committee on Claims to introduce
a bill to refund to Charles H. Michum a sum of money erro-
neously paid.

On motion of Mr. Stewart, of Dorchester,

The vote by which the order in reference to printing the
Constitution was adopted,

Was reconsidered.

The question being upon the adoption of the order,

Mr. Latrobe submitted the following amendment:

After the word "Constitution," strike out the words
" seventy-five," and insert the words one hundred.
Which was adopted.

The question then recurring upon the order as amended,
