Which was read, assented to and sent to the Senate.

Mr. Banner, (the rules being suspended,) submitted the
following order:

Ordered, That when this House adjourns to-day, it stands
adjourned until Monday next, at 12 M, tomorrow, (Satur-
day,) being the anniversary of Washington's birthday.

Which was adopted.

The Speaker laid before the House the following reply of
the Comptroller of the Treasury, to an order of the House.

COMPTROLLER'S OFFICE,

Annapolis, Feb. 21st, 1868.
Hon. Wm. A. Stewart,

Speaker of the House of Delegates.

Sir: In obedience to an order of the House passed on the
20th instant, requesting me to furnish your Honorable Body
with a "statement, showing the amount of revenue derived
from special licenses to non-resident traders in Baltimore
city, for the year 1866, and also the amount derived from
same source under the Act relating thereto, passed in the
year 1867, for the year 1867," I have the honor to state
that there were no special licenses issued from this office prior
to 1867, as there was no law authorizing such, hut that there
was received during the license year of 1866, from December
1st, 1865, to December 1st, 1866, inclusive, from non-resi-
dent licenses the sum of $6,657,75, and during the license
year of 1867, from special licenses, the sum of $761,48, and
from non-residents, between same dates, $5,964.75, making a
total from both grades of $6,726.23.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on the
Judiciary.

The bill entitled an Act to provide for the making of a
general index to the various records in the office of the Reg-
ister of Wills, in Kent county, and for re-transcribing the
records of wills in said county, from the year 1756 to 1776,

Being upon a third reading,
On motion of Mr. Beck,

Was recommitted to the select committee who reported
the same.
