Mr. Mitchell presented the petition of George A. Huntt,
late Sheriff of Charles county, to recover money due him on
account of fees.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Claims.

Mr. Legg presented the petition of sundry citizens of Kent
Island Queen Anne's county, opposed to the repeal of the
funeral law, whereby funerals are permitted to pass free of
toll, humbly petition the General Assembly now in. session
not to repeal said law.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on the
Judiciary.

Mr. Dalrymple submitted the following order :

Ordered, That it he entered on the Journal, that James
A. Bond, a member of this House is absent because of indis-
position.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Stewart, of Dorchester, submitted the following mes-
sage:

BY THE HOUSE OF DELEGATES,

February 20, 1868.
Gentlemen of the Senate :

We respectfully propose with the consent of your Honorable
Body, that a joint committee of two members on the part of
the House of Delegates and one member on the part of the
Senate, be appointed in accordance with the suggestion of the
Executive as contained in his message of —— instant, to
consider the report of the Adjutant General, and subjects
therewith connected, and have appointed as said committee
on the part of this House, Messrs. Stewart, of Dorchester, and
Latrobe.
