WEDNESDAY, February 19, 1868.

The House met, and was opened with prayer by the Rev.
Mr. Leech.

Present at the call of the roll the following members :

Messrs. Stewart, (Speaker,) Loker, Boyer, Iglehart,
Deale, Bond, of Calvert, Dalrymple, Mitchell, Chapman,
Nicolai, Montague, Poteet, Holmes, Biddison, Rose, Lowe,
Corbin, Horsey, Percy, Johnson, Davis, of Cecil, Touch-
stone, Mearns, Guy, Williams, Sudler, Legg, Holloway,
Smith, of Worcester, Albaugh, Dutrow, Wenner, Bowlns,
Maynard, Silver, Nelson, Vandiver, Brown, Moore, Sanner,
Wentz, Robb, Morse, Blake, Latrobe, Pentland, Smith, of
Baltimore city, Bond, of Baltimore city. Col ton, Mullin,
Chaisty., McElroy, Harig, Markland, Marshall, Conway,
Herbert, Rohrer, Seibert, Riggs, Conley, McCulloh, Ivean,
Devecmon, Trimble, Hall, Davis, of Carroll, Jordan, Wor-
thington, Harden, Clark, Jones, Fooks, Hopkins—73.

Mr. Jordan presented a petition from William H. Grouse,
Adam Clarke, A. F. Ornderf and 53 other citizens of Taney-
town, District No. 1, Carroll county, against the repeal of
the present funeral law.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Cor-
porations.

Mr. Moore presented the petition of C. E. Farrell and 46
other citizens of Caroline county, against the repeal of the
funeral law.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Corpo-
rations.

Mr. Chapman presented the petition of Walter Mitchell
and sundry other citizens of Charles county, praying a
change in the law relating to public roads of said county.

Which was read and referred to Messrs. Chapman, Mit-
chell and Loker.

Mr. Williams presented the petition of 75 citizens of Prince
George's county, asking the passage of an Act repealing sec-
tion 59, Article 16 of the Code of Public Local Laws, of said
county.

Which was read and referred to the Prince George's dele-
gation,

Mr. Bond, of Baltimore city, presented the petition of the
Childrens' Aid Society for $1,000 annual grant.
