TUESDAY, February 11. 1868.

The House met, and was opened with prayer by the Rev.
Mr. Cronin.

Present at the call of the roll the following members :

Messrs. Stewart, (Speaker,) Loker, Boyer, Beck, Ham-
mond, Iglehart, Deale, Bond of Calvert, Dalrymple, Mitchell,
Chapman, Slingluff, Montague, Poteet, Holmes, Biddison,
Rose, Lowe, Corbin, Horsey, Percy, Stewart, of Dorchester,
Johnson. Davis, of Cecil, Richards. Keech, Guy, Legg, Hol-
loway, Smith, of Worcester, Albaugh, Dutrow, Weuner,
Maynard, Byers, Silver, Nelson, Vandiver, Brown, Moore,
Hubbard, Sanner, Wentz, Robb, Blake, Latrobe, Pentland,
Smith, of Baltimore city, Bond, of Baltimore city, Colton,
Mullin, Chaisty, McElroy, Harig, Markland, Marshall, Con-
way, Syester, Coudy, Herbert, Riggs, Conley, McCulloh,
Kean, Trimble, Davis, of Carroll, Jordan, Worthington.
Harden, Clark, Jones, Hopkins—68.

The Speaker laid before the House the seventeenth annual
report of the House of Refuge.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Ways
and Means.

Also, the

Memorial of the Boys' Home of the city of Baltimore,
asking an appropriation.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Ways
and Means.

Also, the

Memorial of Shipley, Roane & Co., and many other mer-
chants of Baltimore city, asking a repeal of the special
license law of 1867, relating to non-resident traders.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on the Ju-
diciary.

Mr. Montague presented the

Petition of Amos A. Smith, and 55 other citizens of Bal-
timore county, praying the passage of an Act to continue the
present school system In force until July 15, 1868.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Edu-
cation.
