CHAPTER 451.
AN ACT to repeal Section "20" of Article "4"
of the Code of Public Local Laws, entitled
"Baltimore City," sub-title Mayor and City
Council of Baltimore, and to re-enact the same
with amendments.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That Section " 20" of Article 4 of
the Code of Public Local Laws, entitled " Balti-
more City," sub-title Mayor and City Council of
Baltimore, be and the same is hereby repealed,
and re-enacted so as to read as follows :

re-enacted.

"20." The City Council of Baltimore shall
meet on the first Monday of November of each and
every year, and may continue in session for one
hundred and twenty days, and no longer ; pro-
vided, that they may by ordinance or resolution so
arrange their sittings that the same may be held
continuously or otherwise ; and provided further,
that the Mayor may convene the said City Council
in extra session as he may now do by virtue of the
4th Section of the 11th Article of the Consti-
tution ; and provided further, that the City Coun-
cil of Baltimore shall not sit during the present
year, ending October 30th, 1868, for more than
one hundred and twenty days, including the days
of the extra sessions of 1867 and the present re-
gular sessions, unless convened in extra session, as
aforesaid, by the Mayor.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.
