Varden of Carroll county ; Alexander Sollers, of
Dorchester county ; Elizabeth Larrimore, of Tal-
bot county ; Ratilla Tarr, of Talbot county ; pro-
vided, that before the Comptroller shall issue his
warrant upon the Treasurer, under the provisions
of this Act, he shall require each and every one of
the aforementioned pensioners to file in his office
the affidavit of two credible witnesses that the
party claiming a pension under the provisions of
this law, showing the identity of the claimant,
that he or she is a bona fide resident of the State
of Maryland, and he or she is in indigent circum-
stances ; and provided further, that such claimant
or claimants once in each year, counting from the
passage of this Act, renew such affidavit, proving
the fact that of a bona fide residence within the
State of Maryland, and said claimant or claimants
continue to be in indigent circumstances ; and
provided further, that no person now drawing a
pension shall be entitled to the benefit of this Act.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the Comp-
troller of the Treasury shall hereafter require
all persons who are now drawing pensions
under the laws of this State, once in each year,
reckoning from the date of the passage of this
Act, to file with him an affidavit of two credible
witnesses, setting forth that the affiants are ac-
quainted with the claimant, that he or she is a
bona fide resident of the State, that he or she is
the identical person entitled to said pension, and
that the claimant is in indigent circumstances,
and that all laws inconsistent with the provisions
of this Act be and the same are hereby repealed.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That this Act shall
go into effect on the date of its passage.
