box or barrel, for elevating, weighing, storing and
drying, as may be agreed upon between the officers
of the said corporation and the owners of the grain
or other merchandise stored.

Issue certifi-
cate.
|
Sec. 8. And be it enacted, That the President
and Secretary of said corporation shall, when re-
quested by the owner or owners of any grain or
other merchandise stored in their warehouses or
elevators, issue a storage certificate drawn to the
order of the owner or owners of such grain or other
merchandise stored, and shall, on the return of
such certificate, properly endorsed, and after all
charges for elevating, storing and drying have
been paid, deliver to the person or persons claim-
ing ownership, the grain or other merchandise de-
signated by the certificate returned.

Amount
advanced.
|
Sec. 9. And be it enacted, That the President
and Directors of the Company are authorized to
advance to the owner or owners of any grain or
other merchandise stored in their warehouses and
elevators, such amount as they may deem expe-
dient, and hold the said merchandise so advanced
upon as security until the amount advanced, and
the accrued interest thereon, is paid to the
Company.

Liability.
|
Sec. 10. And be it enacted, That the stock of
this corporation shall be deemed personal estate,
and shall, with all the effects of the Company, be
liable for its debts, but the stockholders individu-
ally shall not be liable therefor, and the service of
any judicial process on the President or on any one
of the Directors shall be sufficient service on the
Company.

In force and
reservation.
|
Sec. 11. And be it enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from the day of its passage, and the
General Assembly reserves the right to alter,
amend or repeal this Act at pleasure.
