CHAPTER 344.
AN ACT to authorize and empower the Mayor
and City Council of Baltimore, and the County
Commissioners of Washington County, to waive
the liens acquired by them, respectively, under
the mortgage heretofore executed to the Mayor
and City Council of Baltimore by the Western
Maryland Railroad Company in trust to indem-
nify the said Mayor and City Council of Balti-
more and the County Commissioners of Wash-
ington County upon their endorsements, re-
spectively, of the second mortgage Bonds of the
said Company.

Waive liens.
|
SECTION 1 , Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Mayor and City Council of Bal-
timore, and the County Commissioners of Wash-
ington County, be and they are hereby authorized
and empowered, if in their discretion good policy
requires it, to waive their liens and the mortgage
heretofore executed to the Mayor and City Council
of Baltimore by the Western Maryland Railroad
Company, in favor of a mortgage or mortgages to
be executed by said Company to such amounts, not
exceeding the sum of one million dollars, as may
be determined by the Mayor and City Council of
Baltimore and the County Commissioners of Wash-
ington County.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from the day of its passage.
