cents, all wagons of burthen, whose wheels exceed
four inches in breadth, shall, pay one-half the
above rates at each gate in such proportions as the
said Company shall prescribe.

Close travel.
|
Sec. 13. And be it enacted, That this Company,
during the construction of said road, shall have
the right to close said road to travel when in their
judgment such travel will work an injury to said
road.
|
Funerals.
|
Sec. 14. Be it enacted, That this Company shall
not be authorized to charge tolls on any vehicles
passing over this road for the purpose of going to
or from a funeral.
|
Banking pro-
hibited.
|
Sec. 15. And be it enacted, That said Company
shall not exercise any banking powers or issue any
paper to be used as currency.
|
In force and
reservation.
|
Sec. 16. And be it enacted, That the above Act
shall take effect from the date of its passage, and
the General Assembly reserves to itself the right
to alter, amend or repeal this Act at pleasure.

CHAPTER 332.
AN ACT to authorize the County Commissioners
of Frederick and Carroll Counties to aid in the
completion of the Woodsburrough and Pipe
Creek Turnpike Road Company.

Subscribe for
stock.
|
SECTION 1 . Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the County Commissioners of
Frederick and Carroll Counties be and they are
hereby authorized and empowered to subscribe for
the capital stock of the Woodsburrough and Pipe
Creek Turnpike Road Company to any extent they
may think necessary to construct and complete the
said Turnpike road, not exceeding in the whole the
sum of fifty thousand dollars, and in payment
thereof to issue, on the credit of said counties, and
