290 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS' [Feb. 7,

Mr. Touchstone presented the

Petition of John J. Abrahams, John J. Heckart, T. H.
Knight, and others, praying an Act of incorporation pro-
viding for a steam ferry, on the Susquehanna River, at Port
Deposit, in Cecil county.

Which was read and referred to the Cecil and Harford
delegations.

Mr. Hopkins presented the

Petition of A. J. Crawford and 29 other citizens of Wi-
comico county, praying the passage of an Act to continue in
force the present school system till the 15th day of July
1868.

Also, the

Petition of William A. Kirkpatrick and others, school
teachers of Quantico, Wicomico county, praying the passage
of an Act to continue the present school system until the 15th
of July, 1868.

Which were severally read and referred to the Committee
on Education.

Mr. Maynard presented the

Memorial of a large number of citizens of Frederick
County, protesting against any change of the Charter
of the Frederick and Pennsylvania Line Rail Road Com-
pany, which may authorize any change or alteration of
the point at which said Rail Road may strike the Pennsyl-
vania and Maryland Line.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Corpora-
tions.

Mr. Coudy submitted the following order :

Ordered, That E. E. Rohrer have leave of absence for two
days.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Williams submitted the following order :

Ordered, That it he entered on the Journal that Mr. Guy
is absent from his seat to-day, being detained in Washing-
ton on pressing business.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Richards submitted the following order :

Ordered, That it be entered on the Journal that Wm.
Henry Legg was absent from his seat on Monday, Tuesday
