CHAPTER 283.

AN ACT to repeal Sections Four and Five of
the Act passed the Eighth day of March, Eigh-
teen hundred and fifty-six, Chapter one hundred
and forty-eight, entitled " An Act to incorpo-
rate the Kent County Railrcad Company," and
to re-enact the same with Amendments.

Repealed and
re-enacted.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That Sections four and five of the
Act passed the eighth day of March, eighteen hun-
dred and fifty-six, Chapter one hundred and forty-
eight, entitled " An Act to incorporate the Kent
County Railroad Company," be, and the same are
hereby repealed, and re-enacted so as to read as
fellows :

Stockholders.

Sec. 2. And beit enacted, That the Stockholders
shall meet on the second Monday of May, in the
year eighteen hundred and sixty-eight, and upon
the second Monday of May, in every year thereaf-
ter, at Chestertown, of which notice shall be given
by the secretary at least twenty days in the news-
papers published in Kent County, and choose by a
majority of the votes then present, by ballot, to
be given in person or by proxy, eight Directors for
the ensuing year, who shall continue in office for
one year and until others are chosen, and a major-

ryland, and the said Directors being first sworn
well and faithfully to discharge the trust reposed
in them, shall then proceed to elect one of
their number President, and shall also appoint a
Treasurer, a Secretary, and such other officers as
may be necessary, and the President and Direc-
tors aforesaid, shall conduct the business and man-
age the concerns of the said company, until the
second Monday of May, thereafter, and until like
officers are chosen to succeed them, and may make
and enforce the By-Laws, rules and regulations
provided for by the second Section of the said Act
entitled " An Act to incorporate the Kent County
Railroad Company," and the said Stockholders
shall meet at such other times as they may be sum-
moned so to do by the Directors, in such manner
