congregation, according to the discipline and gov-
ernment of the Roman Catholic Church, to be
improved, enjoyed or used for a church, parsonage,
burial ground, school house, or any or all of said
purposes.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 269.
AN ACT to compensate Joseph M. Palmer for
services rendered the State in two cases, the one
against George Otto, the other against George
Hape, both of whom stood charged with a rob-
bery committed in Carroll County on the pre-
mises of Peter Otto, and to which cases he was
assigned as assistant counsel by the Governor of
the State on the thirty-first day of March, eigh-
teen hundred and fifty-five.

SECTION 1 . Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the Comptroller of the Treasury
be and he is hereby directed to issue his warrant
to the Treasurer to pay to the order of Joseph M.
Palmer the sum of three hundred dollars in full
for services rendered the State in the aforesaid
cases.
