Mitchell, Nicholas Jones and ninety-seven other operatives of
Thistle Factory, asking the General Assembly to pass a law
making ten hours a legal day's work in the cotton factories
of this State

Which was read and referred to the select committee on that
subject.

Mr. Vandiver submitted the following order :

Ordered, That it be entered on the Journal that Mr. Nel-
son was absent from his seat yesterday on account of sick-
ness.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Stewart, of Dorchester, submitted the following order :

Ordered by this House, That 8,000 copies of the Adjutant
General's Report be printed for the use of the members of
this House, and 300 copies of said Report be furnished the
Adjutant General.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Smith, of Baltimore city, submitted the following
order:

Ordered, That from and after this date, when this House
adjourns it stand adjourned until 11 o'clock, A. M., of the
following day.

Which was read.

Mr. Jones submitted the following order as a substitute:

Ordered, That the regular hour of meeting of this House
shall be 12 o'clock, M., until further ordered.

Which was read.

On motion of Mr. Pentland,
The whole subject was laid on the table.
Mr. Morse submitted the following order :

Ordered, That Mr. Sanner be excused for absence yester-
day, being detained in Baltimore on important business.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Corbin submitted the following order :

Ordered, That the Committee on Public Buildings inquire
into the expediency of leasing the State wharf on Pratt street,
Baltimore.

Which was rejected.

Mr. McCulloh submitted the following order :

Ordered, That E. G. Hall have leave of absence for a few
days.
