send one hundred dollars, Isaac Amos one hun-
dred dollars, Benjamin Fawcett one hundred dol-
lars, William H. Guy one hundred dollars, Clem-
ent Barry one hundred dollars, Richard Martin
one hundred dollars, Joseph E. Lynch one hun-
dred dollars, Milton T. Kidd six hundred dollars
and S. T. Herbert one hundred dollars, being
amount of respective certificates now held by them
and unpaid.

In force.

Sec. 5. And be it enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

Approved March 30, 1868.

 

CHAPTER 248.

AN ACT to incorporate the North Branch Lum-
ber and Boom Company.

Incorporation

SECTION 1 . Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That Henry G. Davis, Thomas B.
Davis, J. Philip Roman, Basil F. G-arlitz and
John Swann, and such others as may become asso-
ciated with them in the manner hereinafter pro-
vided, shall be and they are hereby constituted a
body politic and corporate of the name of "North
Branch Lumber and Boom Company," and by
that name shall have succession, and shall sue and
be sued, and may hold real estate and other pro-
perty, make and use a common seal, and pass all
by-laws necessary for the management of said
Company, the regulation of its stock, and the
calls for the installments thereon, not repugnant to
the laws of this State or the United States.

Capital stock

Sec. 2. Be it enacted, That the capital stock of
said Company shall be five hundred thousand dol-
lars divided into shares of one hundred dollars
each, and each share thereof shall entitle the
holder to one vote in all meetings of stockholders
to be given either in person or by proxy, and for
