thorized to be made by the Legislature, where it
may be necessary to cross said railroad, the Com-
pany shall make or cause to be made a proper and
convenient way for said road to cross.

 

Sec. 16. And be it enacted, That the Wicomico
and Nanticoke Railroad with its lateral ways shall
be deemed and is hereby declared a public high way
subject to the imposition of tolls to be hereafter
regulated by this Act.

Lateral roads.

Sec. 17. And be it enacted, That said Company
shall start and run their cars for the transporta-

 

tion of passengers and property at regular times
to be fixed by public notice, and shall furnish suf-
ficient accommodations for the transportation of
all such passengers and property as shall, within
a reasonable time, previous thereto, be offered for
transportation at the place of starting and at all
such stopping places established for receiving and
discharging way passengers and freight for that
train, and shall take, transport and discharge such
passengers and property at, from and to such places
on the due payment of the freight or fare legally
authorized therefor, and shall be liable to the party
aggrieved in an action for damages for any neglect
or refusal in the premises.

Transporta-
tion.

Sec. 18. And be it enacted, That on the com-
pletion of the said railroad, or any section thereof,
it shall and may be lawful for the said Company to
demand and receive such sum or sums of money for
tolls of persons or property as are fixed by the char-
ter of the Pocomoke and Wicomico Railroad Com-
pany.

Toll.

Sec. 19. And be it enacted, That the said Pres-
ident and Directors shall annually declare and
make such dividends as they may deem proper, of
the net profits arising from the resources of the
said Company, after deducting the necessary cur-
rent and probable contingent expenses, and they
shall divide the same among the stockholders of
the said Company in proportion to their respective
shares.

Sec. 20. And be it enacted, That the President
and Directors of the said Company are hereby au-
thorized and empowered to form a union with such
Company or Companies as are or may be incorpo-
