THURSDAY, Februay 6th, 1868.

The House met, and was opened with prayer by the Rev.
Mr. Hammond.

Present at the call of the roll the following members :

Messrs. Stewart, (Speaker,) Loker, Coad, Boyer, Ham-
mond, Iglehart, Deale, Dalrymple, Mitchell, Chapman,
Nicolai, Slingluff, Holmes, Biddison, Rose, Lowe, Corbin.
Horsey, Stewart of Dorchester, Johnson, Touchstone, Rich-
ards, Mearns, Keech, Guy, Williams, Legg, Smith, of Wor-
cester, Albaugh, Dutrow, Wenner, Bowlus, Maynard, By erg.
Silver, Nelson, Vandiver, Brown, Moore, Hubbard, Sanner
Wenz, Robb, Morse, Latrobe, Pentland, Bond, of Baltimore-
city, Smith, of Baltimore city, Colton, Mullin, Chaisty, Ha-

Rohrer, Seibert, Eiggs, Conley, McCulloh, Kean, Trimble,

Mr. Maynard presented the

Petition of Hambleton Lindsay, Andrew Smith, and
28 other citizens of Frederick County, protesting against any
change of the present legal rate of interest in this State.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on the Ju-
diciary.

Mr. Slingluff presented the

Petition of W. F. Burns, Joseph Grafflin, G. A. Cla-
baugh and 60 others, opposed to the repeal of the Funeral
Law.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Corpo-
rations.

Mr. Slingluff presented the

Petition of James B. Cuddy and 17 other citizens of Balti-
more County, praying the passage of an Act to continue the
present school system in force till July 15, 1868.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Educa-
tion.

Mr. Williams presented the

Petition of 25 citizens of Aquasco District, Prince George's
County, praying the passage of an Act to continue the pres-
ent school system until the 15th of July, 1868.
