CHAPTER 226.
AN ACT to prohibit Horse Racing on the Public
Roads in Queen Anne's County.

Whereas, the practice of Horse Racing on the
Public Roads in Queen Anne's County prevails to
a great extent, to the obstruction of her highways,
and to the predjudice of the rights of the traveling
public, therefore,

Preamble.
|
SECTION 1 . Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That no person shall run any horse,
mare, or gelding, on any of the Public Roads of
Queen Anne's County, for the purpose of racing.
|
Racing pro-
hibited.
|
Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That any person
violating the provisions of the foregoing Section,
shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and be
liable to presentment by the Grand Jury of the
county, and on conviction thereof, shall be fined
not less than ten nor more than fifty dollars, in
the discretion of the County Circuit Court, the
same to be collected and paid over to the County
Commissioners, to be by them applied to the repair
of the Public Roads in said county.

Penalty.

Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act
shall take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 227.
AN ACT to incorporate the Parkton and Man-
chester Railroad Company.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That a corporation be and is hereby
created and chartered by the name of the Parkton
and Manchester Railroad Company, for the pur-
pose of constructing, maintaining and working a

Corporation.
