Sec. 18. And be it enacted, That it shall not be
lawful for said Company to ask, demand, or re-
ceive toll of or from any person or persons going
to or returning from church or funeral.

Sec. 19. And be it enacted, That the County
Commissioners of Carroll County, subject to the
provisions of Article three, Section fifty-four of
the Constitution of Maryland, be and they are
hereby authorized and empowered to subscribe for
as many shares in the capital stock of said Com-
pany as in their judgment they may deem advisable.

Sec. 20. And be it enacted, That nothing in this
Act shall be so construed as to allow said Company
to issue any note, script, token, certificate or other
evidence of debt, to be used as currency.

Sec. 21. And be it enacted, That this Act of in-
corporation shall continue in force for fifty years,
and that the General Assembly hereby reserves
the right to alter, amend, or repeal this Act at

A SUPPLEMENT TO THE ACT, entitled an
"Act to incorporate a Company to build a
Turnpike Road from Liberty Town, Frederick
County, through Johnsville, to Pipe Creek,"
passed January Session, 1864, Chapter 338.

SECTION 1. Se it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That the Liberty and Pipe Greet
Turnpike Road Company, be and they are hereby
authorized and empowered to extend their road tc
intersect the Western Maryland Railroad, at some
point in Carroll or Frederick County, as the said
Company shall elect.
