authorized and empowered, in their discretion, to
levy on the taxable property of said county, or
issue the bonds of said county for a sum not ex-
ceeding four thousand dollars, to be applied to
the alteration and repair of the Courthouse in
said county.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That if the said County
Commissioners determine to issue said bonds, they
shall have power to provide by a levy on the tax-
able property of said county for the payment of
interest on said bonds, and also for the redemp-
tion of said bonds, at such time or times and in
such proportion as they may deem proper, the
whole to be paid within a period not exceeding
ten years, said bonds to be free from taxation and
to bear interest at the rate of six per cent, per an-
num, payable annually.

Issue bonds.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That for the purpose
of making such alteration and repair, the said
County Commissioners are authorized and em-
powered to purchase all necessary materials, em-
ploy such person or persons as may be necessary
and appoint such agent or agents to superintend
said alteration and repair, and allow said agent or
agents such compensation as they may deem right.

Sec. 4. And be it enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.
