tioned in said Act of incorporation, but may, in-
stead thereof or in addition thereto, at its option,
run or send its ships on any other route or routes,
or to any other port or ports.

 

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 195.

AN ACT to incorporate the Emmittsburg Railroad
Company.

 

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That D. G. Adelsperger, Joseph
Browner, Joshua Walter, E. S. Taney, Joseph
Byers, Dr. Andrew Annan, Isaac Hyder, George
W. Rowe, Dr. James W. Eichelberger, Christian
Zacharias, Michael C. Adelsperger, Lewis W.
Walter and John K. Taylor be, and they are
hereby appointed Commissioners under the direc-
tion of whom, or a majority of whom, subscriptions
may be received to the capital stock of the Em-
mittsburg Railroad Company, which is hereby in-
corporated ; and the said Commissioners may cause
books for subscriptions to be opened at such times
and in such places and under such forms as they may
direct, after having given such notice as they may
deem advisable of the time and places for opening
the same by publication in at least one paper pub-
lished in Frederick County, and in at least one of
the daily papers published in the city of Baltimore ;
and upon the first opening of the said books, they
shall be kept open at least two successive days
from ten o'clock A. M. to two o'clock, P. M., and

if within that period five hundred shares of the
capital stock shall not have been subscribed for,
said Commissioners may cause said books to be
opened from time to time for the period of twelve
